A transfer programme: you start here (usually after HSC or A-levels) and, with good grades, move on to a university to finish a bachelor’s, with your credits counted. The receiving university sets the grades it needs.
Transfer requirements
To start: Secondary completion with programme subjects. Engineering: English 50%, Math 30-1 60%, Math 31 60%, Chemistry 30 and Physics 30 at 50%. International students accepted.
To transfer: Each route has its own rules. Engineering: a 2.3 GPA after the full-time first year gives a seat in second-year engineering at the University of Alberta. Other routes transfer within Alberta.
English: IELTS 6.5 (no band below 5.5) for most programmes; higher for some, see notes
From Bangladesh: HSC is the required document for Bangladesh. The course needs ELA 30-1, Math 30-1 and 31, Chemistry 30 and Physics 30 equivalents (50–60%). For courses taken outside Canada, send official transcripts and course outlines/syllabi (fee per course). Documents not in English may need an IQAS assessment. It is not confirmed that the transfer guarantee covers international students. Engineering accepts international students (Fall 2027, apply by 1 May 2027). The U of A seat at GPA 2.3 has no domestic-only limit stated. Alberta PAL needed.

Fees, intakes and entry requirements change often. Check the current application fee and requirements on the university’s programme page.
