A transfer programme: you start here (usually after HSC or A-levels) and, with good grades, move on to a university to finish a bachelor’s, with your credits counted. The receiving university sets the grades it needs.
Transfer requirements
To start: Engineering: English 12 (C+), Pre-calculus 12 (B), Physics 12 (C+) and Chemistry 12 (C+), with places ranked by GPA. Physics: secondary completion with science and maths.
To transfer: Finish the Engineering Transfer Diploma at the minimum GPA for guaranteed entry to second-year engineering at UVic. Leave after year 1 with the certificate to transfer to UBC, SFU, UNBC or Alberta. Physics credits transfer course by course.
English: IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0)
From Bangladesh: HSC is on VIU's high school completion equivalency list for Bangladesh. Send detailed syllabi with a transfer credit request; the department chair matches them to VIU courses (up to 8 weeks). Bringing in 2+ courses usually rules out direct entry to this diploma. It is not confirmed that the transfer guarantee covers international students. International intake Sep 2027 (apply 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Mar 2027; first come, first served). The UVic guarantee has no domestic-only limit stated. BC PAL needed.

Fees, intakes and entry requirements change often. Check the current application fee and requirements on the university’s programme page.
