Curriculum
What and how you’ll study
- Most Dubai provision is international branch campuses awarding the home university’s own degree: a UK degree from Middlesex or Heriot-Watt, an Australian one from Wollongong, an Indian B.E. or MBA from BITS Pilani or Manipal, taught to the parent university’s syllabus.
- Campuses sit in free zones such as Dubai International Academic City and Dubai Knowledge Park, regulated by KHDA, which issues a local permit and checks that the Dubai delivery matches the accredited home programme.
- A KHDA permit is not the same as federal accreditation. MOHESR accreditation is what UAE employers and equivalency bodies ask for, so check both registers before you pay anything.
- From 1 January 2026, Federal Decree-Law 31/2025 makes federal licensure compulsory for free-zone institutions, with campuses regularising by about January 2027. Verify each campus’s status during the transition.

K-12
We don’t place school-age students here
Higher education only
Luminous places school-age students in Canada and New Zealand only. Children of residents attend Dubai’s KHDA-regulated private schools, teaching CBSE, ICSE, British, American and IB curricula, with 2026 fees from about AED 9,000 to AED 110,000 a year. Accompaniment works the other way round here: a student on an institution-sponsored visa normally cannot sponsor family, while a UAE-resident parent can sponsor a son until 25 and a daughter until she marries. Families usually come on a parent’s work residence visa. For United Arab Emirates we can answer general questions, but we don’t handle school admissions here.
