Curriculum
What and how you’ll study
- Every programme worth taking is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency and listed on the Malaysian Qualifications Register. Accreditation is granted programme by programme, so check your exact programme, not just the university name.
- Branch campuses of Monash, Nottingham, Curtin, Swinburne and Heriot-Watt teach the parent university’s curriculum and award the parent university’s degree at a fraction of the home fee.
- Private universities also run 3+0 franchised degrees (the whole foreign degree delivered in Malaysia) and twinning programmes that split study between Malaysia and the partner country. The overseas leg needs that country’s student visa.
- Get written confirmation of the awarding institution and that your mode of study is full-time on campus: India, Pakistan and Bangladesh restrict equivalence for franchised or distance-mode awards.

K-12
We don’t place school-age students here
Higher education only
Luminous places school-age students in Canada and New Zealand only. International schools teach Cambridge, IB and American curricula, with 2026 fees from roughly RM 12,000 to RM 105,000 a year. Family accompaniment is tightly restricted: dependant passes are normally only for full-time postgraduate students on programmes longer than 12 months, with undergraduates eligible only on a listed set of nationalities. Children aged 7–18 on a dependant pass need Permission to Study before enrolling. For Malaysia we can answer general questions, but we don’t handle school admissions here.
